Doll Making 101 with Pamela Hastings
In this introductory doll making course we will experiment with stick dolls. Both novice and experienced doll makers will learn simple approaches to express complex and powerful ideas. Starting with sticks, we'll wrap, make Model Magic faces, use all forms of fiber for embellishment. Express yourself! No experience necessary.
Materials: Students should bring: 2 sticks, no longer than 6", a simple sewing kit, scissors, fabric glue--Eileen's tacky glue, 1" masking tape, and drawing implements, heavy thread and sewing needle. a small packet of embellishments

Bio: Pamela has been sewing, drawing, and making dolls since she was five and couldn’t start school with the rest of her friends. She has exhibited and taught internationally and her work can be seen in Susanna Oroyan’s books: DESIGNING THE DOLL, FINISHING THE FIGURE, and ANATOMY OF A DOLL, as well as FIBERARTS DESIGN BOOKS FOUR and SIX, MAKING CREATIVE CLOTH DOLLS, and from Lark Press, and her own self published books on Paper Dolls and Doll Making.
